Default 997 Turbo 6-speed

Does anyone know if a 997 Turbo 6-speed manual (non-GT2), can build boost without the engine under load (that is, at a stand still with the clutch depressed, or transmission in neutral)?

The 996 Turbo 6-speed can not build boost for a standing start launch, assuming the clutch is depressed. Is the 997 Turbo 6-speed the same?

I believe all manual turbo cars are that way.

Absolutely not. It's the nature of the beast. You can't obtain boost without load. Years ago I put a boost gauge in my 911 and didn't understand (idling and revving in the garage) why the boost gauge never seemed to come alive. Once I got it in gear and underway it came alive and boost was building as I put more into the throttle.

Softtronic and EPL both offer "launch control" for the 996tt. .2-3 bars of boost, you can find the videos on line. Rev to 4k brake on, release the brake and clutch at the same time, watch your tires go up in smoke.
