I removed it from my 03 turbo with 14K miles. I have both stubs axles uncut, the half shaft and the diff. Or maybe I should keep it.

Keep it. In fact store it on the car. Why people remove the front diff/shafts/etc on these cars is beyond me.

Recon unit from Porsche here in Europe is 1300 Euros. Comes with 2 year warranty. Second hand units go for 700 euros.

Your car is a rear wheel drive most of the time, only uses front wheels to help if it is needed.
Also, the weight factor is small.
