I am considering a mid level chassis lift, does anyone have any experiences with a specific model and removing a 996 (turbo) motor/tranny?
Most I have seen have cross bars that look like they would interfere.
Thanks in Advance.

I looked at a lot of them but finally decided I wouldn't use it that much...but take a look at the Benco website....the scissors lift seems to be one of the most versatile and can be moved around...but remember it weighs about 1000 pounds. Even though it does have a crossbar, you could remove an engine without the crossbars gettingin the way. It also raises to a much higher level than the midrise lift. Most of these are all made in China now....even though they might have different labels on them. You also have to have some way to offload it at your house and muscle it into the garage because they come on a truck and it's your responsibility to get it off and into the garage..so some big friends would be beneficial. Some assembly is required. You can do a search and find a number of the guys who have installed them. One fellow even had the concrete cut out so that the lift fit flush with the floor...but that takes alot of work and cost. If ou have enough overhead clearance, you can look at the one or two post lifts.
