Default Fuel Gauge Shows Full (all the time)

Being full all the time is everyone's dream, but I know better than that. It only shows Full or 3/4. Not much else. Any thoughts? I've read the forums up and down and no one seems to have a solution. I have already pulled the fuel pump and all the snakey hoses out of the fuel tank for inspection. The hoses (venturi tubes) seem to do what they want once you put them back in, so I can't imagine an option for moving them out of the way of the float.

Whatcha think?

Funny, most complain it never reads full...still there is a possibility the float gets stuck behind the fuel lines...could be sensor...any codes?

After dicking with my fuel guage on and off for 2 years my tech finally determined that the guage cluster is not working. Of course this does not mean this is your issue, but for $2K for a replacement cluster I'll live with a fuel guage that is not accurate. It is criminal though that Porsche would have issues with something so simple.

Take some zip ties and secure the tubes away from the float.

Same thing for me. Replaced the float in the tank under warranty and it didn't fix it. Then replace the gauge cluster, also under warranty. Works fine now!!

Anyway, things in general regarding fuel system (that I have heard of)

1. Fuse, E6 (usually fuel will squirt back at you)
2. Pinched vent tubing (TSB 5/99, 2015)
3. Incorrect fuel level display (TSB 01/04, 2066)
4. Calibration issues...
5. Various "legends" about nozzle differences, angle of entry and depth of entry (OK I know what you guys are thinking...gutter minds)...I have heard 9:00 position works better...LOL
6. Fuel pump, ruptured fuel lines...all resulting in car won't start
7. Fuel level sender unit (either failed or the floater arm is stuck behind hoses)
8. Fuel filter (only pre '02 as post 02 the filter is integrated)
9. Gage cluster faulty...yikes

Just as reference in case anyone else comes across this post in the future....My guage reads full upon fill up and goes down normally as you drive to around half tank then goes back to full and hovers around between full and 3/4 forever. So I regularly just check mileage when I fill up and figure I can go about 200 miles before I need to stop again.

We have changed the sender unit. Recalibrated at least 5 times. Repositioned floats, blah, blah, blah....

One of Bill's items he identifies is the #1 issue...a blown E-6 fuse. This has been a fairly common problem so I duct taped an extra one to the inside of the gas filler compartment...up high enough on the side so that any spilled gas wouldn't eat thru the adhesive in the duct tape. That way I have an extra fuse there in the event it starts spitting back gas.
