Default PCM on 2004 loses its memory settings

I am facing a strange issue with PCM on a 996 2004. The car loses all its setiings and memories when the ignition is switched off.

Has anyone come throught this before ?

TIA

Stereo's tend to have two power feeds - one from the battery which allows it to remember stuff when the ignition is off, and one from the ignition so that it switches on / off with the ignition.

The most likely cause is that there is a problem with battery side power. Maybe a dodgy connector on the PCM?

Most aftermarket head units have inline fuses - I assume PCM doesn't, but have you checked one of the main fuses hasn't gone?

As in the other forum...what is the status of your battery? Original?
