996 TT vs 996 GT3
I am in the market for either a 996 TT or 996 GT3 - Which is better? The car will not be tracked - I will use it for Street purposes only. What are the pros and cons to both cars?
Thanks in advance for your input!

The GT3 will ride much more harsh on the street. No turbo lag with the GT3. You cant go wrong with either. Try them both as they drive and ride very differently.

There are far fewer 996 GT3s in the U.S. than 996 Turbos. I think that would have some impact on why GT3 have higher values.
The GT3 is around 300-400lbs lighter and does not have PSM. The Turbo comes standard with Litronic headlights and full-leather interior. The GT3 revs to 8k which is fun in its own way, but the Turbo has much more power potential.
I don't necessarily think one is better than the other... it's just a matter of finding the one that is best for you.

No problem. You have 3 cars that I absolutely adore (993, NSX, 355)!
If I was a collecting man, then I would limit my choices down to the GT3 or 2005 Turbo S. If you are unfamiliar w/ the 996 Turbo S, then it was only offered in 2005 as the final year of the 996 Turbo and it has the standard options (that were optional in 2002-2004): PCCB and X50 power option. It also has Turbo S badging in the rear and tach. IIRC, there were around 250 Turbo S imported to the U.S.

I have gone from a 968 Clubsport to a 964 to a GT3 Clubsport and now to a turbo. The reason why I traded the GT3 for a turbo was becasue I wasn't doing enough track to justify the GT3 and the turbo is just such a good road car. My "3" was set up for track only and would have run circles around the turbo on the track but at my stage in life, putting the whole family in the turbo and go for a drive beats thrashing the "3" on the track. It is also a matter of insurance as insurance companies in Sweden used to cover trackday events while I had the "3" and as of July this year trackdays are no longer covered. A used turbo or a "3" costs in the region of USD 80K in Sweden and that's simply too much money for me to risk kissing the armco.
In your case which is all street duty I would go for a turbo without putting any furhter thought in to it.
