Default Anyone have insight into this S. CA dealer?

I'm looking at a vehicle at Phillips Auto in Newport Beach CA. Has anyone on Renn purchased a car from them? Are they reputable? (I'm on the east coast in the DC area..so I feel somewhat removed).

Thanks!

Never actually purchased from them, but got an "I don't give a f**k about you" attitude a couple years ago when I called them about a vehicle they had for sale. Turned me WAY OFF.

I am not sure why people are concerned about 'reputable'...

I assume every salesman is a lying scumbag, and protect myself accordingly!

Carfax, autocheck, google;
Try and pull PCNA records from VIN;
Driveby done by a friend/buddy;
Independent PPI at a shop NOT recommended by the seller;
Written contract;
Fly in;
Drive;
Buy;
(Ship?)

What Adam said....No matter the reputaion.

I think the only reason "reputation" comes into play is that there are dealers who are KNOWN to misrepresent things in which case I wouldn't buy anything from them even if all the above checked out OK.

Yeah, no, I can agree with that...

Also, if they are just jerking you around via phone, and they have a bad rep, doing all the due diligence does have a cost- real cash and time- so why waste it on a seller that is notorious?

I purchased from them a couple of years ago & they still owe me $$.
Suggest you steer clear of these criminals.......there are too many other options.

Best,

J
