Rennlisters: Steal this watch!!
Ok, if you want all the details about how this whole idea started, visit the 993 section of the Air/Oil Cooled Forum and click on the thread titled"
"Ok, so I have this cool PD watch and don't know what to do with it!"
I won't go into detail here. Suffice it to say that a few of us started chatting. 96PorscheTwinTurbo happens to have a really cool watch that he really doesn't need. One thing led to another and we now have a charity raffle that has begun. If you want or need a really cool watch or you just feel like doing something good today, go over to the above thread and let us know how many tickets you would like to purchase.
One lucky winner will receive a really nice limited edition Porsche Design watch which originally sold for $2,500!! More importantly one deserving charity will receive some well deserved support from all of us!
The Watch
Among the world’s great cars, the Porsche 911 Turbo is unique. So too is the Limited Edition 911 Turbo Chronograph—a sporting watch as unique and purposeful as its automotive namesake. As with other world-class watches, the Turbo’s heart is a jeweled Swiss automatic mechanical movement. The four-subdial face is rendered in the graphic style of 911 Turbo instruments. And in addition to the chronographic functions, the Turbo tracks twin time zones—supremely useful for international travel.
A surgical stainless steel case with protective shoulders uses a submarine-style screw-down crown and sapphire crystal to provide both durability and water resistance to 100 meters. The rotating tachymeter bezel counts down or measures lap speeds. And the stainless steel bracelet is adjustable to fit any wrist comfortably. Whats in it for "96Porschetwinturbo"?
Well its his watch and the agreement was that he got 50% of the proceeds and Rennwish gets 50%, up to $2,000 collected. Beyond $2,000 dollars collected, Rennwish gets 100%!
So what is the "Steal this watch part"?
Well, now thats a new idea that 96PorscheTwinTurbo has. For every $500 raised by all of you Rennlisters, you can steal $75 of his proceeds and give them back to Rennwish. If you raise $5,000 you just stole $750 of the amount that he was to have received. Rennlist would get $4,750 of the $5,000 received!! (Don't worry, he'll get lover it).
How Do you send your money?
When you respond to the thread mentioned above, indicating that "you're in" and how many tickets you want, 96PorscheTwinTurbo will send you a PM indicating the email address to send your PayPal payment to. As long as its received before the drawing, you're in!
How do I know this is legit?
Trust your gut. If it doesn't feel good, don't do it. But I can tell you there are going to be quite a few people around this site sporting smilies after having a shot at a nice watch and doing some good for Rennwish. Come on. Show a little trust, do a little good, have a little fun! Jump in.
How will we know who wins?
Well we're going to do a drawing, of course. We're still working on details but 96PorscheTwinTurbo will be looking for fellow Rennlisters in his area to volunteer to come over and participate in the drawing (do I feel a Sunday cruise to Milwaukee brewing (punn intended) to participate in the drawing? We'll also videotape this and post the drawing on the thread.
What else do you need to know?
I'm not sure. Let me know if we've missed some major issue. Thanks to all the 993 site folks for showing the initial enthusiasm and input to create this cool initiative out of a simple challenge to help a guy with a spare watch problem!
Please go the our initial thread or PM 96PorscheTwinTurbo to let us know if you want to purchase tickets. It will get confusing if we have multiple threads running.
