Now that made me shoot my pepsi out my nose. Gee I guess this is like making a 99 996 badged as a GT3.

I've seen that in person and it doesn't really flow for me (imo)

Absolutely right... at the end of the day, you should modify your car to your liking.

Of course, people are going to have their opinions on what you do but hey, it's your car.

In terms of updating the look, I think there are quite a few things you can do.

One thing IMO that really kills the 996 is the interior. A new steering wheel, new seats and other things can help liven it up.

Exterior wise, not much you can do except add aftermarket peices. One thing that will liven it up are wheels and a drop in my opinion. Here's mine... still a 996 but looks better to me than stock

I do like those rims. I thought about rims but I was already way over budget on the whole thing. I was looking into painting the console. I had it painted in my last 911 and thought it brought an "original looking" change to the vehicle.

Painting the console will add some spice to it. How about steering wheel? What kind of rims were you looking at? I'm selling a set in GT2 spec if you are interested

Sounds like some great mods, but please forget the GT2 badge. Simply not cool and will drop your great car into the poseur class.
