996 TT should win even with the new generation M3 ...
2-3 times I had the opportunity to be next to a new M3 and I can assure you that the previous gen M3 has no chance at all...

I thought so. I did have a brief encounter with one (prev. gen.) didn't push the TT to the limit for the sake of other drivers on HWY, he followed behind me...we did go to 3 digit speed territory though.
