I doubt there is much gain (contrary to claims) from the airbox.

Pewter82...are you upgrading an X50 or are you saying an "X50 upgrade" to a non X50? If you have an X50 it will benefit from a less restrictive exhaust and an ecu flash, a reprograming of the existing ecu. Intake is not really an issue, stock is fine for this level of tune. Consider an upgrade of the DVs and a wastegate spring as well.

What is an "X50 ECU upgrade"? You need to find out what software has been flashed to the ecu. Also check out if the airbox on the car has a reputation for burning out mafs...do a search for that. Is the exhaust still stock?

Owner says exhaust is stock, and there is documents on the work performed on the car. I'm backing off on the deal as I think about it. I don't think I need to pull the trigger just yet. I'm paying roughly 40K and giving a 83 S 928 5 spd to boot...
