Default Performance Exhaust Systems

Has anyone seen (or heard) of a good compromize on an exhaust system that balances performance with noise level for the TT?

Muffler Bypass pipes on hi flow cats are simply too noisy for street use. Great power, excellent for track I am sure but not for a daily driver.

I am trying to find a set of hi flow mufflers that will mate with my 200 Cel Fabspeed Cats.

I really like the idea of separate cats as opposed to a one piece unit.

Can anyone talk from experience?

Thanks

SWR

i believe that fabspeed has a "quite" or milder version of mufflers. try them first since you already have their cats.

Talk to Tym at SPI. Jewel-like quality fit and finish with no compromise performance

This is a highly subjective topic! What is noise to someone might be music to another's ears!
Having said that I'm very happy with my 70mm high-flow speedtech. The quality of the materials is top notch, and the price can't be beat! Has a very nice, mellow, deep sound on idle, not too noisy at speed. Go to their site: http://www.speedtechexhausts.com/
and listen to the soundclips. Good luck!

I've got a speedtech 70MM unit with tips and silencer rings I'm selling in the Forsale section... Even have sound clips of it...

In your situation, I would contact fabspeed and try and obtain a set of quiet gen 2/3 cans.

ShockWaveRider: We design and manufacture three distinct exhaust systems for the TT's tailored to your sound preference. We have our Ver. 2 Maxflo exhaust system which is designed for the TipTronic/Cabriolet TT's, Ver. 3 Maxflo exhaust system designed for 6speed/Coupe TT's, and we now have a true 70mm/2.75" Maxflo exhaust system which includes our 200 cell sportcats with 70mm outlet, directly out to our 70mm tips. We just slashed prices for our 996TT Maxflo exhaust systems, which are now at $2,995 and $4,695 for the 70mm/2.75" Maxflo exhaust system. Since you already have our 200 cell sportcats, I can work out a special price for you since you only need our Maxflo mufflers. P.M. or email Joey@fabspeed.com for more info
