Headlight washer jet cover was not going inside probably because of dirt. It can only be raised by the pressure of water.

My passenger-side (right side) cover/nozzle came off while I was on the freeway doing about 75mph! A new one at Sunset Porsche is $64 btw. :-| Seems that there are two ways to replace the part as others have mentioned: remove the headlight assembly and a couple of screws OR have someone activate the washer while you grab the broken neck assembly and remove the broken piece one-handed. :-) It looks easy on YouTube, I'll know more when I try it this weekend. :-)

I have the double nozzle type on my 2001 996... yesterday I was messing around with the windshield washers and activated them for the first time. I subsequently found out that the passanger side had one of the two nozzel/***** popped clear out of the mechanism and bounced off the windshield and back onto the road in front of me! I found the nozzle/ball and popped it back in... I had my girlfriend activate the system while I was standing in front of the washer mechanism and it popped right back out! Can the individual parts be replaced or do I need to buy the whole new assembly or can we get individual components?
I don't know if the mechanism is damaged or what might be broken... they all look the same!
I will try to take a picture tonight and see if anyone can get me a diagnosis by Internet!
