Please be careful with those wheels for winter driving (IIRC, you said the car came with stock rims also....those are likely much better with regards to sidewall height/deflection and potholes).

+1...two days ago lost the rear winter tire to a brick like object on 128 (I95)...now facing replacing at least two rears if I don't find the exact (maybe discontinued) Dunlop tire

He has ~200K miles on his 996TT and he has driven it all over New England in the winter on stock wheels IIRC.
The 996TT in the snow is very impressive.....from what I've heard, mine has never been in the rain (hey, the world needs garage queens too)
