I've noticed a "puff" of white smoke at start up
It has only happened twice in the last 2000 miles. It has occured both times after the car sat for about 1.5 to 2.0 hours. As I said it's just a puff that slowly floats away. Smells like oil/fuel and is grayish/white.
Thanks!

Mine does this sometimes as well. When it first happened it freaked me out. I researched it and was told by several people that this would happen with these cars from time to time.
They will also smoke some if it is time to change your spark plugs out.

Very normal for there to be a puff of smoke at a 1. Spirited drive or 2. Period of time where the car sat without starting. Always, always let the turbos cool down for a couple of minutes after you've "gotten into them" or you will cook the turbos. Very expensive fix.

common in horizontally opposed cylinders, get alittle oil in them and the resultant smoke, totally normal, a search will reveal my comments to be true over and over.
no worries

It happend to me as well several times in my (covered more than 300.000 klms) 4 times in my 996 C2 (covered (100.000 klms)and once in my 996 TT (covered 40.000 klms now)
most of the times that this occured (if not all of them) was when I had a hard - fast run in my cars.
it is normal thogh.

I usually park with the exhaust pointing away from outdoor patios anyway... my exhaust is not quiet and nobody enjoys a little CO with their coffee.

Might be common all across the whole spectrum of p-cars. I watched my wife start the Cayenne I usually drive and an alarming cloud of smoke came out of one exhaust. The V- six uses one pipe from the converter to the muffler and then splits to dual exhausts. I'm guessing the car had just jockeyed around the driveway and had been started and cut off within a few minutes causing some unburned fuel to linger. Never noticed the TT doing it though.
