Hello all.

Is a clutch master cylinder and clutch accumulator the same thing???

No, they are different. The accumulator ball is on the transmission threaded into the clutch slave cylinder.....

What role does the clutch accumulator play in determining the smoothness of the clutch pedal movement? I'm feeling a vibration through my pedal, and I thought I read somewhere on this site a theory that it could be related to the accumulator. Thanks.

From what I understand in the documentation I've read, it stores enough fluid to allow for consistant fluid at the slave cylinder during repeat depression of the pedal. It also helps with the "easy" feel of the pedal...

For me, the clutch pedal gets progressively stiffer and stiffer... I found while I was at the track last week that I had to match revs to not grind gears... Good thing Suncoast has sent me a new accumilator and slave cylinder.

Should be installed in the next few days as I get time!

All - Experienced repeated issues with the cluth. They replaced the accumulator 9 months ago.
Problems..Then they replaced the master slave a few weeks ago...
then the pedal started getting hard again...went back and they replaced the accumulator with the part number from the 997 turbo and the clutch feels like i'm in a new car.
No problems thus far.

all touches were under warranty.

Just answered this same question on the other discussion...mine failed at 31K miles also...replaced it with the 997 accumulator and all is good. The new PET number shows a 997 part.
