I think it's your car, so do whatever the hell you want with it!
On mine I've got wingbadges (www.wingbadges.com), and a silver "S" badge after the turbo script, even though it's only a "lowly" ol' X50. I've yet to find someone who doesn't like the mods, even among Porsche purists.

Its called being a sleeper (as if any 996TT) could be considered a sleeper...It just gives you an edge on the street to the unsuspecting. I pulled all the AMG indentification off my MBZ so every thinks its a C230. Lots of fun blowing off M3, Boxers, Caymans and non boosted 996's.

Three Wheelin'
I just saw a beat up e36 3 series bmw with an M badge on it the other day, and thats not the first I have seen, just seems more prevelent in that croud. Along with A4s with S4 badges.
I would not put X50 badge if I had one, would maybe even debadge the turbo, However I did put a turbo badge on the back of my Ford F-350 diesel, more or less as a joke. It does have a turbo in it!
Awesome X50, hope to have one in the next year or 2.

Stealth is my preference also...
Coming from an Audi S4, I developed a liking for being stealthy. People always figured it was an A4. The RS4 is even more understated, what with it's greater level of performance.
By comparison, I don't think a Porsche can be called stealthy in any way... They just look too much like a Porsche... Now that I have a Turbo S, I feel much more visible on the road, as it were and it definitely attracts more attention. The first time I test drove it, a Mustang convertible pulled up next to me at a light and the driver started revving his engine. I looked over and he and his girlfriend were laughing, so it was obviously good natured fun on his part. I laughed and said, "Sorry it's a test drive and I can't race!"
The first night after I bought the car, a Subaru STi pulled up next to me on the freeway and wanted a go. I didn't take the bait...
But those types of situations never happened with my S4. Just another A4. Oh well...

Also, forgot to mention...
I should've said as well: do what you like, since it's your car. As others have said, it's a matter of personal preference.
Anyway, the X50 is still fairly understated in that most people won't know what it is. Now if you put "X50 ($17,800)", that would probably cross the line insofar as being ostentatious... Or maybe people would think that it's a Porsche that cost $17,800...

..no turbo badge on my X-50, factory delete stealth...turbo centers on the twists, but those are..HARD..to read at speed...
I do have the Turbo script doorsills (a worthless option in my mind - they came w the car), i suppose I could open the door at 90 and flash them.... ????
