966 Turbo Euro Emissions
Hello from Greece
I am about to buy a 996 turbo from Germany and in order to registered the car in Greece I have to pay some customs duties...
The problem is that those customs duties calculated by the Euro emissions!
So, if the car is euro 3 the customs duties are 142% on the CIF price, but if the car is euro 4 the customs duties are 50% on the CIF price!
If any one know the euro emissions by model year on the 996 turbos it would be great!
Thanks
Lefteris

The CO2 for the 996TT with manual gearbox is 309g/km or 324 if it's an X50.
I can't tell what class this is.
If you need to pay 50% on duties, is this a good deal in the long end ?

So if the car is euro 4 the duties is 25.000 euros or so.
if the car is euro 3 the duties is 71.000 euros....
In the first case is not that bad (for the Greek standard)...
So for a 2002 Euro 4 car that cost 60.000 Euros in Germany the total cost will be about 90.000 euros with number plates and some fees here and there...
Now, if this is a good long end deal?
If I keep it for about 3 to 4 years, I will get almost all of my monay back, if the 998 turbo came before I sale it, I will lose 10.000 euros or so!
