rough 2nd gear engagement
Hi everyone! I'm almost pulling the trigger on a 2001 996TT manual transmission, 14th km. I test drove it yesterday but have problems engaging 2nd gear smoothly from 1st. I mean it's easy to shift to 2nd from 1st or 3rd but once clutch is released, it gets a bit rough. The clutch seems a bit stiff compared to my 99 carrera. I like the feel of the clutch though releasing at about 2/3. I was shifting at about 3.5k rpm, it was much smoother when I was shifting at lower rpms. I hope nothing major since this is the only thing holding me back. I've been searching but not clear if it's an 01 problem with the clutch assist or just have to remove air? Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
As it was my first time to drive a TT, driving impressions...what a beast!! I want it badly.

Jose, there is a TSB on determining if the transmission needs to be replaced... Give me your email Id and I will send it.
I suggest you drive a few more so you can compare them.

Alexander, there's a sudden jerk when I release the clutch but this only happens in 2nd. It's smooth as butter in all other gears.
Owner will have it sent to the dealer...might be the clutch assist or the disc
