Default Tire size upgrade for 996 TT

Well I think I've got my pad problem solved with PFC97 up ront and 01 in back. Looking for new tires both stereet and buying wheels for track. Can I increase the 996 turbo tires from 225 to 235/40 -18 on stock hollow spoke wheeels (8") and how about rears; stay with the 295/30 -18 or move to larger 315/30 -18 on the 11" hollow spokes?

Any thoughts? Not as concerned about street tires (running SO2-A's) but would like to increase size up front for track (Michelin pilot sport cups). Possible, any problems on fit or handling?
