A car dealer friend of mine sold me a set of 17" turbo twist wheels they took off a 1999 996 non-turbo. The price was too good to pass on. He just wanted them out of the shop. Will they fit the 996 turbo? Would they be decent for track days?

 

I'll ask another way. Do any of you guys who do track days use smaller than an 18" wheel? For weight savings possibly?

 

17's won't clear the front brakes. You can run custom made 17's on the rear with stock brakes. 17" turbo twists won't work on a turbo. They're too narrow and have the wrong offset.
