Default DIY oil change: no one carries this part!

Hi all.
I am working off the renntech GT3/TT/GT2 oil change
instructions, and it lists one particular part of interest,
the smaller rubber o-ring (999 707 465 40). It seems that
for at least the 6 Porsche dealers I called in the 40-mile
radius, they *never* change this O-ring for their oil
changes, and don't even carry the ring in stock. I can
probably get a SoCal dealer to sell me one and send it
in a 39-cent envelope, but that's the closest dealer that
has them!

Default oil

I looked the size up and it is a 10x2 mil. I went to Advance Auto and they had them in a single pack. Just ask for a 10mm x 2mm and take your old one to match it up. You may even go by a VW dealer as i have a TDI and they use a fileter and o ring that looks the same. The VW filter comes with the o ring. Make you wonder about the dealerships service dept.

Man call these guys www.sunsetimports.com.

When I did my oil change I didn't need to know one part number with them. I just told them I needed all the seals for an oil change and they did the searching for me and sent the parts at a good price including the little O-ring.

Pelican parts has it. I replaced it once, was expensive 7.31. I have no idea as to whether this is a "special" o ring or its just a question of getting screwed. I will not be changing this one with every oil change (maybe every 5th one).

My BMW 540i has a similar cartridge filter and the filter kit comes with a new crush washer and o-ring. Could they be the same size?
