Honest guys, I did a search first! Found lots of good recommendations (Castrol SRF, Motive pressure bleeder), but no answer to my question. I want to completely flush the old brake fluid. Assuming the reservoir lets me, I plan to:
1) use a turkey baster to pull out as much old stuff as I can from the reservoir,
2) fill reservoir with new fluid,
3) use Motive pressure bleeder to flush all 4 wheels.
The question is, what is the fluid capacity of the brake system other than the reservoir? I don't want to waste $70/qt SRF by pushing a bunch of it into the catch bottle! I know about Super Blue, but want to use the Castrol in this car.
Maybe a better way to ask is, for the wheel furthest from the reservoir, how much fluid needs to drain into the catch bottle for me to be sure that the new fluid has made it from the reservoir to the bleeder screw?
Then how much needs to be drained for the second wheel? Third? Fourth?
This is all assuming that the old fluid isn't obviously cloudy so it won't be visually obvious that new fluid is coming out of the bleeder.
