Default GT40 VS 911TT

Just curious...are stock 996TT's supposed to be faster (Quicker) than stock GT40's?

Saw one next to me today. Big beefy sun'bitch of an ***...looked mean as hell but he wouldn't go on me. Was I lucky that he didn't? Would he have handed me my lunch?

If you're stock...Yes.

I am supposed to beat him if I am stock and he is stock? or yes...if I am stock, I am lucky he didn't pull on me?

I have GIAC flash but that's about it.

Good question.

Driven properly, the Ford GT will do the quarter in the 11s with a trap speed in the mid 120s. If you can't match that...well you know the answer.

Motor Trend tested the Ford GT and recorded a 0-60 time of 3.6 sec. The achieved a quarter mile of 11.6 at 126.2 mph.

Ok....I'm taking it that it was good that I put my head down and pretended to be looking for a CD.

If it's safe, there's nothing wrong with witnessing the fact that you have a slower car.

As others have said, make sure he's stock... that said, I'd suggest a roll. The car is geared to hit >60mph in first

Don't try and take him from a dead stop. All the cubic inches and low end blower torque will beat you.

It is.

Road and Track quoted times for the Ford;

"Our radar gun clocks the Ford GT's 0-60-mph time at 3.8 seconds, and the quarter-mile sprint at 12.2 sec. with the speedometer indicating 121.6 mph."

Car and Driver quoted times;

"The new GT is an incredible car at an incredible price. Sure, its price is in the low six figures, but the one we tested vaulted to 60 mph on 3.3 seconds and through the quarter in 11.6 seconds at 128 mph."

The Ford weighs close to 3400 lbs, I'm at 3175 with 20 less hp and even torque numbers. I think I can take him.

I ran one from 30-140 a couple of weeks back and it was dead even. I have a PSI tune, EP2 Loud, BMC filter, RWD, etc. but nothing major. I assume he was stock.
