How to lift rear end on jack stands?
Hello, I am new to my Twin turbo. I have lifted my 993 from the under the engine case to put it up on jack stands. Can the same be done on the twin turbo? How do you guys get the back end on jack stands. Thanks in advance. AL Z

It is the same as with your last Turbo. Put a block of wood, never go metal to metal, between the center of the engine block were the split is and the jack. You can safely jack up from there and then put your jackstands at the jack up points in front of the rear wheels.

I used the jack points on my 993 to raise the car and put jack stands under the inboard rear suspension mounting points. Putting all the weight on the engine case seems a bit scary. Anyone else have some favorite methods.

Steps to getting a lowered car on 4 jackstands...
I have a wonderful AC long reach, low profile jack, but it's still a tricky task to get the car up on 4 jackstands. I use the following method:
1. Raise rear of car by jacking on the engine case split line from the rear.
2. Place 4x4 blocks under the rear tires and lower the car onto the blocks.
3. Jack each side from the rear jack point to height suitable to place jackstands under the front jacking points.
4. Return to the rear and raise rear of car by jacking on the engine case split line from the rear.
5. Place jackstands under the rear jacking points.
The extra step of using the 4x4 blocks is necessary because if the front is up on jackstands, and the rear tires are on the ground, there is insufficient clearance to get the jack under engine from the rear. If the cars wasn't lowered, this isn't necessary.
Hope tis helps.
