I just upgraded from a Carrera 4 Coupe to a black 996 TT coupe (all stock).
What an amazing difference. I thought I knew what a fast car was, until I pointed that Turbo at the horizon and put my foot down.
This is what warp speed must feel like...
I can only imagine what a stage 4 conversion does...
I found a nice one-owner California car with only one drawback: the tan leather interior has the dark burr wodd trim and it's cracking all over the place.
Any recommendations on a reasonably-priced way to clean up the interior?
I looked at the suncoast Porsche prices for the dark burr wood trim. That's not what I would call reasonably priced.
I appreciate any and all feedback.

Congrats on the new car.
Unfotunately I think you are going to find interior trim pieces are expensive no matter what. If you are into carbon fiber these guys make some pretty cool aftermarket stuff and reasonably priced (relatively speaking). Not sure how that would look with tan interior, but, just a thought.

Congrats on the purchase; these are awesome cars even for us previous owners. Unless you love the wood consider that replacing with more wood will result in another round of replacements in a year or two. You might consider replacing the wood with std leather parts that are plentiful used or body painted trim (depending on the part) which would both be easier on the wallet.

Carmen,
I think I would actually prefer leather over anything else right now.
Any idea where I could get an itemized list of leather-covered (or same color plastic) pieces and prices to replace this wood trim?

Too bad the wood looks fantastic when new. I'd go with the Carbonfiber trim as a replacement...it should last forever and cost the same as the fake aluminum (which I have and would love replace but still figuring out the suspension mods). I had full leather in a 85 911 and it warped, cracked and faded over time. Perfomance Products has the full carbon fiber program.
