45k Service - Plus rotor "issue"
Hi,
Took my '02TT in for it's 45k service yesterday. I noted to the technicians that I believed I had a warped front right rotor - here's why (thoughts/comments if you have any):
At low speeds (10, 20mph) you can hear a kind of "whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh" at the same frequency the wheels are moving. I might be extra sensitive but I can 'almost' feel it in the wheel - but you'd have to drive a 911 a decent amount to notice.
What is actually noticable to somebody not looking for a problem occurs during sharp decceleration from speeds above 40-50mph - you get noticable shake in the steering wheel as if the wheels themselves weren't aligned.
I also mentioned it to a friend who races and he pointed it out right away.
Anyways the dealer called me back yesterday and told me "We did the 15k service and everything is fine with your car, including the brakes." I immediately balked and asked if they had actually driven the car, because if they had they would have noticed what I did. I told them to drive it and see for themselves (which makes me wonder what they 'actually' checked out).
They kept the car overnight, and I'm waiting to hear from them. Here's what I'd like to know in addition:
1.)What's the cost of a 45k service
2.)What do they do/change/inspect on the car?
3.)How much to replace a single rotor, including labor?
4.) Was asking them to drive the car a mistake - ie technician pulling hole shots with my clutch?
Thanks everbody in advance! Looking forward to the next 15k miles...not the next 15k service :-(

Update - kindof outrageous
So here's an update:
After being told that there was NOTHING wrong with my car and it was ready to pick up - and mentioning to the tech that I felt something odd in the front wheel, here's what the technicians came back with for an estimate:
"Right Front Rotor Noise"
-Found needs R/F wheel bearing. Parts $85, Labor $480
-Plus four wheel alignment: Labor $640
-Found front brakes are warped: Parts $770, $480
45k mile service - parts $345, Labor $405 (which was the original exercise).
All told for problems that Porsche didn't find originally? $2,800. No thanks.
First off $640 to align weels is laugable. As for the rest, $480 for labor for EACH exercise? If the rim is coming off, can't they just add the brakes and the bearing about the same time?
This is Manhattan Motorcars in New York city. I do not want to use them. Could somebody please recommend a REPUTABLE independent mechanic in the Fairfield CT area?
Thanks!
