Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Repair
I have 2002 TT with a CF steering wheel that has developed heat cracks in the resin. Any known repairs for this? Or is the only option to replace the wheel?

Mike, unfortunately I know of no way to repaircf. It just would not look good. Get a new one from FVD. Good luck. Oh yeah, before you get reamed....it is customary for new posters to present pics of their cars with an intro. Welcome aboard.

dont know how it will turn out, but you might experiment; the clear coat is a common paint clearcoat like is on the cars paint. You can sand with 1200 paper untill the scratches are gone, then re clear. Probibly a body shop would do it and cost in the $100 to $200 range.

Call this place-
www.ebscarbon.com
They are here in Boulder, Colorado.
Talk with Eric Strauss (owner) and see if he can fix it and what the down time would be. He may be able to fill it with resin or resand and make it perfect for you for less money than a new CF steering wheel.
Good guy but needs a stick of fire under his A$$ to get him to move.
