Sorry for my ignorance, I am new to the Porsche world and need your "validation" prior to me proceeding. I come from the BMW world...(i know, i know...I've read the debates...) so don't know a lot about Porsche's pricing, etc.

The forum definitely helps in terms of researching, finding issues, etc.

I have contacted a broker who is able to get the following:

02 Turbo $54500 to $58500.
03 Turbo $56500 to $66500.
03 GT2 $95500 to $99500.

He charges a mere $1000 for his services. I know, depending on the options/miles the price varies. All in all these prices seem quite fair, am I right?

Let me know your thoughts. And thanks for your help.

The turbo prices seem good, depending upon mileage. The GT3 prices are way too high.

My brother is looking for a 2004 or 2005-- x50 or turbo S, Cab, 6 speed. Does your broker know of any? He seems to show you good/great prices. Thanks

Thanks for the correction and the words of endearment. Yes, a great price for a GT2. Man, they have really fallen into the dumper. I wish I had a bigger garage. Oh, and while I'm at it, some actual money so I could buy stuff. I gotta stop hanging out with you high rollers.

Tom--Apparently my broker buys the cars directly from Porsche's lease return program. He mentions a POST-purchase inspection can be arranged but not prior. Any suggestions on reassuring my purchase?

I'm planning to get references from him for people he has purchased for in the past. I'd also like to go with him when he purchases the vehicle to check it myself. Due to this recent finding, I'd only buy 2003+ to ensure still covered under factory warranty...I'm wondering if this is enough though. For such a large purchase, I hate to hope everything will be ok.

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Same here, looking for a Seal or Slate gray '04, don't care about X50 but willing to pay a slight premium over wholesale for a car in mint condition. I am located in SF Bay Area so logistics would not be a problem. Pls contact me via pm.

I bought my 02 x50 w/14k for 70k last month. So either those cars have alot of miles or I took the biggest hit buying a car I ever had. Those prices are cheap. Damit! for what a 02 cost last year you could almost buy 2x this year!

cpu77, I'm with you, I believe the prices to be low or higher mileage vehicles. I'm sure these are not what I would call a "Cream-Puff's"

I bought a one owner '02 996TT, no x50, with 9,800 miles, and three item carbon package, Platinum Gray, Gray full supple leather. Original tires with lots of tread, so the car was not driven hard.

Hi All,

Just an FYI, the cars range from 12k to 60k in miles. List of options not available though the broker provides the VIN on all cars available.

I have received a couple emails, if anyone is interested in the near future (next month or so), possibly we can work something out with the broker? I don't know what, but potentially he might have connections for an aftermarket extended warranty? I have already started the conversation with him on multiple purchases.

As I understand it, Porsche offers lease returns to dealers first...if no dealer takes it, it goes to the general auction. The broker here may have a relationship with a dealer to get access to the lease returns prior to the auction, or he may just be an auction buyer. Note, however, that the best value lease returns will likely be recognized and purchased by the Porsche dealers when offered by Porsche...so this broker's selection may be the second cut of these cars. Still, they may be good values, but there is obviously a risk in buying an "as-is," no warranty car. The fact that no PPI is available is obviously a red flag, however...(what good is a "post-purchase inspection"?)
