This is not an issue of diameter, it is an issue of width, offset and tire size. What suspension are you running? What are the wheel sizes and offset you are looking to run? What size tires are you planning on running on them?

I have Eibach suspension that was on the car when I bought it. The previous owner said it lowered the car 1.5" although when I look at the specs online it says it will lower the car on 1" and give it a tighter suspension. The rims I am looking at are (315/25/ZR19) in the rear and (225/35/ZR19) in the front. The owner said he had them on his 2002 GT2 for 3000 miles and is selling the car with the origional rims. He does not have any more information on the rims. I might just have to drive 2 hours and have them put on the car to see if they would work.

Jeff,

I would recommend finding out what kind of wheels they are. By the tire sizes there should not be an issue. Best guess by the tire sizes that they are 19x8 front and 19x11 rear, but hard to tell without knowing what they are. A 225 is a little narrow for the front of a GT2, but normal for a TT. Are you sure you have an "Eibach" suspension? The only thing Eibach makes for a TT are sway bars and spacers. Many companies use Eibach springs in their coilover kits.

I just spoke with the seller and he said that he had them on his 2002 gt2 and the rims did not rubb. He said that the rear rims are 12" and that seems to be my biggest concern. Does the Gt2 and the 996tt have the same rear end? I would hope that Porsche just put bigger rims on the back for trackion purposes and did not have to change anything

sounds like you may have to roll the fenders.

I'm running IForged Variants 19x12 rear with 315/25/19 tires on my '04TT lowered on H&R springs. No issues period, no fender rolls because offset was specific for the 996TT. Can even lower more since offset is correct.

It sounds like they should work, so I will be picking them up in 2 days. I will let you folks know how they fit when I drive the car with them. Thanks for the info.

The rims fit perfect and have a whole finger from the tire to the fender. What a big difference between the pzero and the Ps2 tires. I stick to the road a lot more around the turns and the wheels did not scrape after hitting numerous pot holes on the back roads. I know some time or another I might scrape with only half an inch between the tire and the fender.

They are actually 12" I lost my tape but placed a 11" piece of paper next to it and it had an inch still to go. Here is a pic
