Default 2001 Silver/Black 911 Turbo 16K miles only

My wife and I are expecting our first child in May, so the time has come for me to sell my much beloved Porsche 911 Turbo. I bought this Porsche about 6 months ago, and have dumped over $17,000 in upgrades and mods since then. It has 500+ Horse Power!! This car is absolutely flawless. Looks like it just rolled out of the showroom floor. I searched for months to find this perfect low mileage Turbo, and I have maintained it in that perfect condition. The car is perfectly tuned, and runs perfectly. I live in Northern Virginia. Feel free to call me at 202 320 6065 or e-mail me at charleysung@hotmail.com

I never could understand why people get rid of these cars because of a child... we have two children and I never sold my Porsche because of the newborn. With some level of compromise you can use the car as a family car. Still keep your dream ride and go out with the family.

You have a beautiful car there that you have dedicated time and money to bring to your specs. My vote is to keep it and convice your wife that it is a family car and not something that needs to go because of the baby. Just make sure her car can accomodate the family better... unless this is the only car in the house, then I could see why this would be an issue.

BTW - Congratulations on the baby!

Dont sell you Imbecile !!!

My daughter's have grown up in the back seats of several 911's
and still beg to take the "POR SHA".

dont sell
dont sell

you will regret it and good luck getting your wife to agree to
spend another $80k down the road after you sell and cant take it any longer.

Trust us--you need this car.

charley,

i had my first and only (well, so far) daughter two years ago. you can put baby seat in the turbo. if you have the dealer disable the airbag, your child will fit up front no prob. i take my daughter to day care this way 3x a week.

also, the rear seat cushion on your car is "velcro'd" on the carpet, just pull hard it will come right off. the seat back has two bolts holding them. remove the folding back. you can EASILY fit child seat in there.

so it's not the easiest to get the child in and out of the back seat area (ah... now i know why i have a bad back now ;-)... it's worth it.

my daughter's very first sentence (i am NOT kidding), she stepped out my wife's SUV, pointed at my cayman s and uttered "i like it, porsche"... even pronouced it right POR SHA... wife was pissed LOL.

she calls wife's car "car"
my car "por sha"

train them early.

charley,

listen to the masses.
with all your recent mods and current prices of turbos you will get hosed if you sell. i tried to do something similar went from C4S to E55(family car) but missed the P car too much. then purchased the turbo. a lot of money wasted for no reason. change out the wifes car to a mini van of some sort and keep the P car. as all have mentioned you can fit a baby seat in the back and the little one will love it. my son calls it the airplane car, he loves the miltek exhaust.
good luck

Beautiful car.
I'll be returning to the US in Feb and looking to purchase a 996TT. I had a '95 Carrera before.
I'm suprised this car is quoted @ 500+hp w/ the mods listed:AWE Exhaust
Fabspeed Intake
Upsolute ECU Flash
Bosch Bypass Valves

Out of curiosity, will these 3 items bring a 996TT to 500+hp? (which is awesome).
What's the approx cost to add these options and what effect on daily driveability.

Thanks for the help.

Keep the car they will thank you later

I also never understood why some people sell cars becaue of a new born.
My parent's never sold a car because they were having another kid

Dad drove the 2 door car, mom had the van. If we went out as a family we took the van, if not he would take his car, sometimes we were allowed in it as longest we didnt make a mess

Is there a cage? I missed it, but Tom invariably knows of what he speaks. It's going to be very tough to recapture your expenses on this. You've done a beautiful job on the mods. Why are you selling?
I've strapped kid seats into all manner of vehicles, including a road-licensed Lola T165 CanAm car. Kids love fast cars. Keep it, it will make you a better and happier father. (I have 6 kids, so that's the voice of experience). AS
