CEL codes 1250 and 0507
I finally made the long haul trip from Charlotte to the Southwest US in the turbo (2001 996 TT - Stock). What a great car for a raod trip. The sports seats feel great even after a 900+ mile day. Some of the road conditions on I40 make me wonder if I really want to lower the car, since the bumpiness of the concrete is quite drastic in places, but I digress.
Now to the issue. I got CEL codes P1250 and P0507 today after rinsing the car off at a car wash (exterior only). I had noticed uneven idle speed just before the CEL. By the way, I'm in Santa Fe where it's 7000 ft MSL. I had a local shop read the codes for me and reset the CEL, but it came back after a while.
The shop said the 0507 code was for "idle control system" but they didn't know what the 1250 error was.
Any help with this error would be appreciated. I'm hoping I don't need to panic about it. I could go to Alburquerque where there is a dealer, but it is quite out of my way.
Thanks in advance.
Chris

My service manual states:
P1250
Boost Pressure Control Deviation-Above limit
Diagnosis Conditions
Boost pressure control active(operating condition close to full load)
No faults in mixture adaptation, pressure sensor, ambient pressure sensor, frequency valve
Possible Fault Cause
Bypass Flaps incorrectly adjusted
Turbocharger faulty
Work instruction
1 Check adj of bypass flap
2 Check that turbo compressor shaft can rotate freely
I have no idea but maybe your wastegates are not adj properly. Good luck,Kevin
