Post 996t with Roll Cage?

Anyone out there with a 996t fitted with a roll cage? Are you interested in running the Targa Newfoundland in September?

9ff is looking for a 996t to sponsor, with 9ff perf parts & contigency money available.

The Targa is a real International FIA sanctioned event this year, and compliance with the safety reqs means a full roll cage, unless you just want to putz around in the "Touring class". Then there is NO roll cage requirement.

Speed channel just had a one hour special on last years event. What a blast. The leading Porsche 993t went out with a blown piston. They are from the Land of OZ (Australia) and will be back again this year. The overall winning car was also from Australia, a Ford Mustang. Ha! Not this year!

Look for the Targa ad in Porsche Panorama. It's not cheap to run it, about $8,000 in expenses for one car & two drivers, for 2,200 km of fun over 7 days.

Get on it guys, it's not too late to register. 1-877-332-2413. Porsche Club owners get a discount, as the featured Marque this year is "Porsche".

The key word is "Roll Cage". If you have one your 996t is probably modified already, and probably don't need a 9ff engine kit.

If you are willing to install one and run the Targa Newfoundland, and have some Race or Rally credentials, it will be a fantastic adventure, and 9ff will help pay the bills.

One week of competetive driving, 2200 km, 7 or 8 stages each day in unpredictable weather, on public roads closed to outside traffic. Watch SPEED TV for a rebroadcast of this event. The people who ran it last year all vow to return.

The overall winner last year driving a Ford Mustang will be back, but the Porsches will reign supreme.
