If I go this route, with different rims, is it too "Over the Top"? Please give opinions.

Not at all,

I even like the body kit, but you have to have the power to match that aggressive look? Stock mini won't do it ... IMO

soon2be, why a Honda VTEC? You can hotrod the factory 4-cyl motor quite nicely and keep the originality. Besides, aren't you looking for a 993 turbo?

It's actually a mod that is quite common in the mini industry. There is even a company starting to make a frame that makes this conversion straight forward. I've met a ton of mini guys who want to do it. And it's different. Imagine a 200 hp motor in a 1800 lb car

I read about one guy w/ a stock Type R motor that is just tearing up the track w/ it. Imagine what would happen if I add my honda tuning experience. Plus I have a bunch of honda motor parts laying around and could build an insane NA motor.

and it's not butchering or ruining anything, that's all subjective, i'm a hot rod guy, I love to tear things apart

the 993 Turbo is going to be a little ways away, and the mini project will be worked on by my dad and I.

bling bling
(n) Jewelry, derived from the sound it makes.
Also used to describe chrome wheels or anything flashy.

The sensing wipers and auto dimming mirrors. Panther Black Gravity Leather Upholstery w/Panther Black Interior Door Casing. Computer Navigation System. 6 Speakers with AM/FM and CD. Alloy Patina Dash, the silver hand brake and floor mats, and later I will probably upgrade the sound I just want to hear it first. And of course the power will hit the 205HP mark soon, But the first mod is a stubby antenna to replace that ugly a$$ long one on the roof.

And just to let you know you can buy the car with a factory aero kit. Or buy the aero kit later and install it. It is just not that wide I don't think. I just checked the factory body kit is $1,200.00.

Alright, how about this one? It is much less "over the top" and I think it is tastefully done. Comments anyone?

I like the grille treatment on this red one. It seems to be integrated better. I am not sure about the darker inserts though.

I agree with the grill treatment on the red one. That body kit seems to flow better. I'd get it in silver and add the wheels that Hamann makes for the Mini.

Very cool!!

YES My Mini S will be at the dealers tomorrow but I don't fly out to Dallas until Friday. Crap. But I just got back from two trips. Tucson and Phoenix, 1800 miles in two day it was alright except it was 115 degrees and I was trying out for the Baltimore Orioles in that heat. But I did see my share of P-Cars about 35 total, and I followed a Boxster S for 100 miles that took about 50 min. to complete. But the best part of all I passed the GM dessert proving grounds and saw the SSR and Corvettes hauling A$$. The thing is like 10 miles long, and for some reason there were about 30 bikes parked there, I wonder if GM. Naa.
