Post Best Audio: Reus Audio vs. Paris Audio?

I am getting ready to purchase a high end audio system to work with my stock PCM I NAV. I have heard positive things about Reus Audio and Paris Audio and really want to ask the question that has been bothering me for a while: "For those of you that have had any experience with either Reus or Paris (or both) can you please comment and comparison contrast the two?"

I am not by any means asking for anyone to "bash" either of these high-end audio suppliers. However, these discussion forums are a great way to discuss hear the "real story" and that is precisely what I'm after.

What are the pros/cons of these two and which would you go with if you wanted to spenk $5,000 on a system? I'm looking to make a decision soon.

I am also ready to purchaes an audio system. I went to Paris Audio and they quoted me $6200 for a 5-channel install. Their work was phenomenal. Rues at $3900 seems like a bargain in comparison. Does anybody know if there is a $2300 difference in these two systems?

Let me preface this by saying that I have heard the Reus, but I have not heard the Paris.

The Reus is amazing. This car audio system is better than my home systems, and I have a Harman Kardon THX system and a McIntosh listening system!!

While I cannot knock Paris, I can tell you that Reus is more than $2000 cheaper. Rick Reus himself told me that Paris audio used to be considered far inferior, but that they have come a long way in catching up to Reus. Rick himself will not knock Paris, which shows that he has a lot of integrity. However...I took a peak into his "graveyard" where all of the old systems pulled out of customer cars are stored, and he has AT LEAST 6 Paris audio systems collecting dust.

I propose you do the $3900 Reus system, then pay the $600-$700 extra for the tech to come out and install the system. Since you're out of state there should not be tax...you will be out the door well under $5000.

Feel free to email me if you're interested in more info: ryan@gaytanfoods.com

Well, I just got off the phone with Rick at Reus and signed up to get a Reus system installed. Rick was great to talk to and told me everything I wanted to hear. I went for the $3900 system, but now they have a new part to this system that puts a rear sub like the Bose system in the back of the car. This is about a $600 extra cost, but Rick says it gets rid of the single weakness of the $3900 system. This weakness is the bass at 90Hz not being as strong as they would have liked it to be, for certain genre's of music such a techno.

Rick also said the $3900 price was a special (for the LA auto show?) and will end in about 10 days, so if anybody wants this price you had better call now and set it up, the normal price of this system is $5k.

Michael,

I am also looking at the $3900 system and the two 6x9 midbase speakers in the back. Additionally, Rick Reus told me about the "center channel" option where they install small speakers in your rear view mirror (for real). They can even do this for dimming rear view mirrors (like mine) and would come out with a dimming rear-view mirror with built in speakers and mini speaker grills. All of this is stealth...AND it suposibly completed the "imaging" to make a superb sound. Rick explained that if you "put a towel around the rer view mirror with this center channel option, you will definately hear a left vs. right speakers, whereas with center channel it is just one wall of music." This was not more than a few hundred and I'm thinking about it.

Can anyone compare Ruess to Paris? Better, worse, scale of 1 to 10?

dpblessing:

Sure, I will probably get mine installed around the 20th of May, which is the first slot they have available.

Dimitry:

RIck didn't tell me about the center channel option. Jeez, keep telling me about this stuff and my wallet is looking thinner and thinner.

IMO the Reus is overrated. I spent less than 3900 for my system and a good friend who has the Reus said mind sounds a lot cleaner and less distortion. I had my system done at www.mobileextreme.com .... If you are in the Miami area feel free to email me if you want to hear it.
