Post Aston Martin Vanquish vs. 996 TT

A friend is going to change his 996TT 02 for a brand new Aston Martin Vanquish, he would like to keep both but at the moment no more garage space and one car must go¡¡¡ Actually he has an X5 4.4i which is already traded for a Cayenne S, Porsche Boxter S (wife present to him )and a 996TT.

This is his second TT first got stolen with less than 3.000KM. He has had several Porsches before Boxster, and 996 C4 cabrio.

I have old him to sell the Boxster S and to keep the TT.

Any one has any experience with the Aston Martin, having driven so many Porsches I don´t think he´ll like it that much.

I've never owned an Aston Martin, but I've driven the Vanquish here in Pittsburgh. It is a VERY nice car. The workmanship is superb, and the drive is good. I like the paddle shift/Formula One style transmission. However, it is bigger and a good bit heavier than the Porsche and the handling can't even come close. Same is true with acceleration. The Vanquish is a beautiful cruiser, but isn't nearly as fun to drive as the Porsche. I'd love to have both, but for now I'm sticking with the 996TT.

I always thought that the Aston Martin was a superb car but when it came into maintenance, handling and performance it can beat a Porsche even with less HP.

The Aston Martin Vanquish is a very nice car, however, it is more directed at the 575M than the 996TT.

I am however, thinking about getting the upcoming AM V8 Vantage when it comes out in '05. It is simply the most gorgeous GT ever made... designed by Henrik Fisker, the creator of the Z8.

That one is meant to go head to head with the 911. Tell you one thing, it will be hard for Porsche to beat it in the looks department.

I second that Hamann7...That is one beautiful car. At ~$110,000 it can't be beat.
