Default Help with Alarm please?

The problem: When I leave the car for 4 or 5 days with the alarm set.....then when I try to open it the key button won't unlock the car / dis-arm the alarm. I can then open it manually, setting the alarm off....until I turn the ignition on. At that point all returns to normal.....the key controls/alarm then work fine. You might think it's the key battery, but that is fairly new, and the red LED on the key flashes hot/fast with the key alarm button pussed indicating its transmitting.

Any suggestions please ?? Thanks in advance for your help. Mike

the key automatically deactivates the remote portion after 7 days (I believe it is seven).
this requires manually putting key into door slot to open.

I think the alarm system deactivates the Key FOB after 5 days of no use. To reset the remote, unlock the door manually then hit the remote button and voila you are back to normal.
