Tuning and exhaust for a tiptronics 996tt
Hi everyone! I'm new to rennlist.com, and I have to say that I am really glad I found it. A big thanks to everyone here!! This forum has helped with my quest to gain more knowledge with regard to performance tuning. I have had my turbo for a little over a year, and now an looking to do some performance tweaks. I am leaning toward a computer mod and exhaust change.
I am curious if anyone has any feedback with regard to weakness in the tip trans/fwd trans that I should be aware of when evaluating tuning options?

Chad,
Thanks very much for taking the time to showing me your absolutely Awesome Turbo. The ride was a treat as well! I can only imagine what it can do in an open road, truely a performance machine! Now I know how I should proceed with my upgrades.
I wasn't sure about how the Ruf Exhaust would look installed, much less how it would sound, and after seeing and hearing I am convinced that would be a great selection for me. As for computer enhancements, I am glad you spend time talking with me. It is good to know that the Unichip can be reprogrammed "when/if" additional performance equipment is installed, so that I can get the most from the added equipment.
Thanks again, and I'm sure we'll see each other again soon.
John

Chad,
I talked with TRG today and made an appointment for this coming Wednesday to have the Unichip tuning done and the air cleaner installed. Baring any unforseen circumstances, TRG should be able to get my car done in one day.
I will be ordering the exhaust from Weissach tomorrow, and I think I will have to drive back up to Sonoma for another tuning process?
Oh darn!! ....
I guess by end of next week I should have a good idea what my stock base hp is, Unichip improvements. Then, following the exhaust change. A pretty clear picture.
I wonder what risks I run with installing the k24 turbos?
Thanks for everyones information and a special thanks to Chad.
