<img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> Today I was in the Parking lot at Tower Records in Stamford CT. I was in the X50 and I bumped into another TT owner. He approached me and asked what exhaust did I have on the car. I explained that this car was an X50. He did not know what that was but I explained it to him. I asked him to pull side by side to compare the sounds of the exhausts. This confirms my initial comments that there is a very different sound. The X50 exhaust is much more throatier sounding with a fuller sound as well. The guy who had the other TT just described it having that sweet sound with that upmf. I am very curious as to what they do different on the X50 exhaust. I have heard it has 100 cell cats but have not confirmed it. I wanna try to get the part number to see if its the same exhaust as the GT2.

According to PCNA, the X50 "includes modifications to the turbo charger, air intake cooler, electronic control unit, exhaust system and a strengthened transmission."
In plain english, yes, the exhaust is different, but I do not know if it is the GT2's.
