Post It's HEEEEERE!

Delivered Saturday afternoon, disgorged from the back end of an enormous covered 80' trailer. My 996TT with 25 miles on the odometer. No time to do much driving of it yet nor any chance to feel it out on a twisty bit of macadam. I will post photo's and a description soon. Meanwhile, as I said over on the 993 board it is FAST.........

Congrats, Garey. What are you doing typing on your computer instead of driving the new car?

Viken; You're right. But right now there are things to do at the "Little Gauge Factory That Could" and that takes precedence. After all I have to pay for this little bit of insanity! I have some reps coming into town this weekend so I don't anticipate free time to drive it until weekend after next.

Garey,

If you want, I can come over and pick up the car, carefully break it in for you, and have it back to you, washed and waxed when you're ready to drive it. That way you'll have no worry about with not being able to use full-throttle all the way up to redline because of the car still being in the break-in period.

I wouldn't offer to do this for just anyone...

Garey, have you considered changing exhausts? Have you heard any of these brands installed? Eric V #1806 and I are interested.

Tom; I've thought about different things to do to the car like exhaust but I want to make sure it's done right. There is a Porsche "Sport" exhaust I believe for the TT and B&B make one, and also FVD, and Gert at his CPX location has some etc. But, I've not heard any yet and there has not been any qualitative or quanititive information available so far as I know. So I am going to sit tight for a while.

As a minor point I think the stock exhaust sound on the Turbo is not bad. The engine in general has more of a "high-tech" sound to me than the 993 did.

I was too quick to change the exhaust on my previous 993 and ended up doing it twice. A lesson I want to keep in mind!
