The bellows between the factory 996TT exhaust and other brands is there so the 2 exhaust banks have the ability to exchange exhaust gasses and thereby alow the exhaust gas pulses. Bellows are a very cost effective way to achieve the objectives stated above but not necessary nor required. Bellows dont at all signify a better designed system. Bellows are not there to ensure that the exhaust doesnt crack......its there as a flexible interconnect.

A one piece big factory type exhaust is more cumbersome to install and if you ever have to replace any components or parts due to an rear end accident or if you ever want to change the sound to louder or more moderate you cant ever change out anything with a one piece fully welded system. You have to replace everything with a completely new system. A modular 996TT exhaust system is as hightech as you cant get anywhere.
