Lightbulb GT-2 Ride Height Measurement Needed

I originally posted this under another topic but decided to add a new topic so it wouldn't be overlooked.

I would like to obtain the measurements from the ground to the top center of the wheel well arch for the front and rear wheels of the stock GT-2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ken,

Ground to fender well measurements are not accurate. Porsche gives ride height measurements to a specific point in the lower chassis. The factory specifies the GT2 dimensions to be 40 mm lower in front and 25 mm lower at rear with respect to the US Turbo (standard height). All measurements are plus or minus 10 mm.

Guys, this request is in preparation of lowering my car. I am trying to obtain as much data as possible to make a decision as to the ride height.

Viken,
I agree 100% with your drop dimensions. They agree with my data.

Chad,
Regarding the GT-2 ride height specs......

The front 118mm is measured from the road contact surface to the lower edge of the hexagon-head bolt (a/f 18) of the tension-strut screw connection to the body. The comparable ROW and USA turbo values are 138 and 158 respectively.

The rear 133mm is measured from the road contact surface to the locating bore in the rear-axle side section (between toe and camber eccentrics). The comparable ROW and USA turbo values are 148 and 158 respectively.

I am still interested in the distance from the road to the 12 oclock position of the wheel arch. I am comparing this to others' measurements from the other post. Part of the lowering decision will be a visual thing using the GT-2 specs as a baseline reference.

Chad,
Can you post your road to arch dimensions please?

Chad,
I look forward to receiving them!

dpblessing,
If you are out there and happen to read this, by my calculations, it seems you are running the GT-2 ride height specs (-40mm front and -25mm rear from USA spec). You appear to be the lowest of all those that responded to the other post. Now, the million dollar question, do you have problems with drivability like what cjv has indicated?

I am trying to acheive this look:

<img src="http://members.rennlist.com/kpv/gemballa-2.jpg" alt=" - " />

<img src="http://members.rennlist.com/kpv/gemballa-3.jpg" alt=" - " />

and it looks lower than ROW settings. That is why I am zoning in on the GT-2 settings.

I have just measured:

- 643mm in front
- 645mm in rear

This is from the ground to the top center of the wheel well arch. The car is brand new.

Hope this helps

Doug,
I was aware of your measurements from the other post. I am collecting this data to eventually post. If you take a stock USA turbo and deduct the difference between it and a GT-2 you end up with ground to wheel arch dimensions of 25.11" and 25.26" for the front and rear respectively. It seems like you are right on the money. Can you post a pic? Thanks for the article reference, it looks fantastic!! It will take a little time to go through but I am looking forward to it.

Arnaud,
Your GT-2 numbers are a tad higher (1/8") than expected and I suspect it is because te car is brand spanking new. I would expect some settling will occur in the months to come. Thanks for the info!

Chad,
Don't forget to post your numbers!!

Thanks cjv! (BTW, the car looks awesome!) You are also running the GT-2 spec ride height except you are 1/8" lower in the rear. It seems GT-2 ride height is the HOT ticket. In another post you were talking about using 265's up front. Are those what I see in these pics?
