Post 315/30 tires on the rear

Just a quickie, I know some of you mentioned hat 315/30s would possible rub? Is anyone running 315/30s in the rear with 225/40s up front, or would I then have to go to 235/40s up front as well? My rear 295/30s (Michelin Pilot Sport Cups) are pretty much shot, so I need to change. Just wondered if I could go larger on my Kinesis K58s on the rear first....

Thanks

Sharkster,
Check the specs for the tires. You want to overall tire diameters front and rear to be the same or at least within 1/4 inch or less.

They don't have the OEM sizes so I run a 245 on the front and a 305 on the rear. My track rims are a stock set of hollow spoke take offs.....Wheel Enchancement recommended this set up.

I too have Hoosiers in 245 and 305. However, the track rims that I have are 8.5" in front and 11.5" in back, which will accommodate 245 in front and 315 in back. However, just like everyone else I do not want to rub so I haven't done it yet.

CJV, I think you might have some experience with this, right?

sharkster,

Just take your car over to Rob at S Car Go Racing. He is located very close to where you live. Others on this board have tried to go another route and ran into problems and disappointment. When you pick your car up from S Car Go Racing, everything will be perfect. If you are running 315's in the rear you will have to go with 235's or 265's due to outside diameter match. I am talking Michelin Pilot Sport Cups now. Save yourself some headaches and go with someone who has been there and done that!

Hi CJV,

OK sounds good, I'll do that then. I remembered you saying something about rubbing with 315s.
