cjv, Is it true that the piggyback design of the Unichip sets off an error code or fault code caused by the Unichip and is stored in the stock ECU? I have heard this from a few different sources.

Having the Unichip does have an advantage in that if you plan to add additional mods ie exhaust/header/cats etc then they can adjust accordingly to maximum gains. The only thing is gains are adjusted according to type of octane your using and here in CA 91 is the highest so it's dialed for octane 91. I had a toggle switch placed so I could switch between 91 and 100 octane so there were two maps done when Unichip was installed. Nice thing though is if you plan to sell the car then you could always have it removed and apply it to the next car which I thought is a great feature. Also my advice is to run a before dyno somewhere else (hopefully same dyno machines so that you have some sort of reference). I think with your TT you will have significant increases ie 50hp or more which is nice. take care. mike

Andreas,

How is the Unichip? How much boost are you running now? Did you go with the additional injectors? Let us know our postost Unichip observations. <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

Cool

How was your experience with TRG? I'm thinking about drving up to Sears point and getting the Unichip installed. What was your before and after hp & torque gains? <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />
