Questions on Turbo production and dealers who will *deal*
I visited my local Porsche dealer here in SoCal yesterday. They had 2 Turbos on the lot - a used 2002 6-speed with 4000 miles and a new 2003 Tip-S. Salesguy let me drive the used one - I'll not waste time on the superlatives that came out of my mouth as I blasted through 1st, 2nd & 3rd gears but suffice to say - "I gotta get me one of these cars." [I have a plain old 2001 Carrera now.]
Which brings me to my questions:
1) Salesguy said that the final Turbos will roll off production line in June and no more will be built until 2006 - is this true? This would affect the urgency of my purchase.
2) Anyone found dealers in SoCal who are willing to cut a deal? This salesguy said that the Turbo market is *hot* and there's no way to get a discount in SoCal. This would make me look afar to buy.
Thanks in advance,
Joe.

Joe,
the market is weak and saturated, you should get a 2003 TT or X50 for 10-15 under window. I'd get an X50 w/ ceramic brakes if you see one; with the hollow turbo wheels, you'll have 11 lb.s less unsprung weight at each corner. X50 not critical; you can get the same effect w/ an FVD brain change.
