I heard installing the 9ff rear wing without "upgrading" the frontal aerodynamics create high speed stability issues.

that was for the 9ff one piece non-raising (GT2 replica basically) rear (if you are referring to a post someone made here a while back)...

Maybe it was on Funcars, but I'm pretty sure it was the raising wing. The 9ff GT2 style top portion that mounts on the existing deck lid. He said anything over 100 mph was not fun. I think he went back to stock.

that is really interesting and strange...for the price you'd expect them to have R&Dd this extensively before selling...

The wing is purely a cosmetic enhancement from a company that more then likely has neither the resources or inclination to do wind-tunnel testing. Putting a different aerodynamic part on the rear without addressing the front aerodynamics will cause instability.

Msindi, the factory puts in countless hours of R&D before anything goes into production. All the aero aids on the car work together. Modifying the aerodynamics at one end of the car while leaving the rest stock can throw off that balance. I think most tuners, other than RUF, go after the right look and hope it works. This is just my two cents.

I disagree and can prove it. The reason I got the wing originally was because when I tracked my car at Laguna my car in the rear felt loose. I needed some downforce. I then went a month later and did notice a great improvement. So it does the work at speeds of up to 135. And that was with my stock front.

thanks

So basically Fred, your car is going to look identical to Matt's at By Design? Oh wait, his doesn't have the carbon fiber extention piece right?

Hi Haman.

I havn't seen Matt's car yet but I think you are right. I don't have the front carbon extension on the front anymore, it broke. He did tell me that he hasn't put the carbon fiber extension on the wing and I will. I think he has different wheels.... THANK GOD ;-)

Have you seen his car? My car is there right now at his shop. I still have all the Gumball stickers but am having them remove and detail my car.

I havn't seen my car in over 3 weeks, I can't wait to drive it again. Hopefully I will have it back next week.

Fred, do you have any interior pictures? What kind of seats do you have in there, GT3?
