Post Computer Tuning on 996TT?

<img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> Computer tuning along with replacing stock K-16 Turbocharges for GT2 K24s for around $9.5K will put your engine safely over 500HP mark. I know that GT version has some weight reduction in brakes and rear seat removal as well as absence of PSM and slightly more horse power than the stock 996TT, but I doesn't justify it 200K price tag. It should cost less with all those features removed from the 996TT for all I know

HELLO AUSTIN TEXAS. I AGREE, GT2 IS A BIT PRICEY CONSIDERING WHAT CAN BE DONE TO NORMAL TURBO.

ECU, GT2 TURBO UPGRADE WORKS GREAT. YOU NEED SPORT EXHAUST TO COMPLETE IT RIGHT. RECOMMEND GT2 INTERCOOLERS AS WELL.

PARK PLACE PORSCHE IN DALLAS HAS DONE MANY OF OUR UPGRADES TO THE TURBOS. BENJAMIN WITRY CAN TELL YOU ABOUT THE 208 MPH CAR THEY BUILT WITH OUR STUFF.

The stock K16's can safely go to 540HP. Just need a Chip and an exhaust if you dont demand over 540HP.

Shank is probably right, assuming ECU tuning is performed specifically on your car, i.e. it isn't a generic program. For a generic program and K-16, 510-520 hp is the safe max.

However, with K16 the power curve will be practicaly flat from 4,600-5,000 to redline as the torque drops rapidly from its peak value. A bigger turbo (GT-1 or hybrid or whatever they call a modified K16 with bigger compressor) will allow for flatter torque curve at high RPM, so the power will grow to the redline.
