If you want to see what it is like on your car's setup, put in a few gallons of 87 octane when you are almost on empty. Question

Interesting example..... So basically you could make a 450hp car run like a 350hp car or worst.. correct?

Knock/pre-detonation is never a good thing. The knock system in the Porsche is advanced and it will pull the timing to reduce knock. However, there is only so much that it can do... Sooner or later you are going to lose a piston or two if you keep pushing it.
