Did no one mention Michelin's? Unless that's what's on it. AS

You mean the PS2's or the Cup tires?

Sorry for the quick hijack...Hey Tom...I think you got the cups right? I wanted your impression. I was thinking of trying them 235/30 & 315/25 for a while. I don't drive in the rain! Just looking for some real stickiness.

The PS2 or Cup choice depends on anticipated use. The point to me is that rubber makes a lot more difference than suspension tuning. If you checked lap times with the car standard, then did tires, then switched back to original tires and modded suspension, the best tires would yield the single greatest improvement.
I'm still a fan of suspension tuning, because it helps you dial the car the way you like it. For guys like me, having a predictable breakaway is paramount, not necessarily the greatest grip. For that, the PS2 is excellent and I haven't had track experience with the Cup to judge. Great tires make you feel like a great driver. AS

AS I agree. I still don't think the PS2s are the best tire out there...I'm searching for just a little more grip...hoping to find it in the Cups. My favorite all time tire was the Yoko 008...now that was a great tire!

I wouldn't recommend cups on the street, they'll be gone in 2k miles.

For fast street driving, I like the PS2's. They are really predictable, don't really squeal, and are okay in water (not great). Just really suck in cold water or slush. AS

Back to topic,
Being an avid modaholic and power freak and having done mods to all (4) generations of
911 turbos...I can finally say that my new Cross JIC suspension is what I should have done
first, then the ECU exhaust, etc.
The suspension (a new coilover system-there are many available) absolutely transforms
the car!!!

wross, I would get a set of Cup tires as your next tire set. If your car is not a totally "daily" driver. I have left the cups on the car and now drive to the track and back. At the track after a lap or two they are really sticky. On the street dry they are the same or a little sticker. I dont think they really heat up on the street. That is the beauty of these tires they dont heat cycle during normal street driving. I just got my first set so I'm no expert. Try a set I'd like to see what you think as well!!!
Assume the bugs are out of your car and its running better than ever!?

Back to the topic, I'm again on board with AS tires are the quickest and most noticable initial upgrade.

Marty, glad to hear that cause I cancelled my moton order (other story) and since you are happy with the JIC's that was my second choice, now my first, I'll call ya!!

Default PS2 Cups

Have to agree with tkerrmd.

I put PS2 Cups on for a track day at 18000 km and have left them on.Now have 26000. My car is not daily driven, but driven very hard on the road nonetheless.
Still have some life in the tyres.

Dry handling on the road is fantastic.
They are a little noisier than the Pirelli Assymetricos that were on there(yuck).
You need to be careful in the rain with PS2 cups.

I need good rain tyres and when I replace these, I will consider PS2 or Pirelli Corsa?
