Default 996turbo AWD > 2WD

I´m thinking about if its possible to go from AWD > 2WD on the 996 turbo
Anyone done it?
What do you have to do?
How much weight does it save?
What will the reliabilty be afterwards?
Will the transmission stand for 500-650HP?
Any other ups or downs?

/Pete

Sure, pizza sounds good! :-)

And by the way cheeting on the new asfalt with a ricer can´t be compared to my old run that was made in the mud ;-)
I will forever be the fastest 2wd car on R-tires on the old asfalt... ;-)

Wow!!! I knew Northern Europe countries were "cold...ish" but thats ICE cold!

P.S. Many have done this 2wd mod without much hassle with the increased bonus of keeping the PSM, some of them come to this forum...

I did a search but dident really understand if it was any reliability problems with the gearbox after removing the Fwd?
Can somone explain what PSM stands for?
Dosent the TT have a Limited slip differential in the rear end?
Will a GT3 supercup gearbox fitt the TT is it the same mountings?

PSM=Porsche Stability Managment.

996 TT doesn't have a LSD in the back so if you go two wheel drive, you might think of putting an LSD in there.

Don't know about a GT3 supercup fitting the 996 turbo.
